About This Journal

About JSAAEA

The Journal of Southeast Asian American Education and Advancement (ISSN 2153-8999) is an online and freely accessible interdisciplinary journal providing a forum for scholars and writers from diverse fields who share a common interest in Southeast Asian (SEA) Americans and their communities. JSAAEA is published with support from the Department of Curriculum and Instruction and the College of Education at Purdue University, and Purdue Libraries Scholarly Publishing Services and Purdue University Press. JSAAEA was originally established in 2006 by the Executive Board of the National Association for the Education and Advancement of Cambodian, Laotian and Vietnamese Americans (NAFEA).

Open Access Policy

The Journal of Southeast Asian American Education and Advancement provides free open access to all of its contents on the principle that making research freely available to the public supports a greater global exchange of knowledge. Such access is associated with increased readership and citation levels. Articles are published under the Creative Commons CC-BY-NC-ND 4.0 International License.

Peer Review Process

Research articles submitted to the journal will go through the standard blind peer-review process. Submissions will be reviewed by two or more members of the Editorial Review Board and/or invited guest reviewers.

Reviewers are asked to judge submissions based on the article's fit within the scope of the journal, the quality of research design, the adequacy of the research methods utilized, the importance of the research questions addressed, and the quality of the writing.

Book Reviews and submissions to the Creative Works section will be reviewed internally by the Editors.

Publication Frequency

JSAAEA features open volumes. This means articles are added to the current volume throughout the year as soon as they are ready for publication.

Indexing and Archiving

JSAAEA is part of bepress Digital Commons, which is listed as a Participating Publisher on the CLOCKSS and Portico systems, both recognized long-term preservation archives founded by leading libraries and commercial publishers. JSAAEA content is also indexed and archived in EBSCO and JSTOR.
