Abstract

Through hands-on activities and discussion, this workshop explores a possible integration of improv into the writing center space and fosters an understanding of improv as generative, even for spaces where comedy is not the intended outcome. In addition, the workshop briefly contextualizes survey data collected from tutors who participated in improv training. Ultimately, this workshop demonstrates the role of improv in the writing center and how it can help us reimagine and improve daily writing center work.
