Abstract
Opened in 1989, the interchange connecting Veterans Memorial Tollway (I-355) and Reagan Memorial Tollway (I-88) in Downers Grove, Illinois, contains four post-tensioned segmental concrete box girder bridges ranging from 558 feet to more than 2,000 feet on horizontally curved alignments. In 2016, Illinois Tollway tasked Ciorba to perform full in-depth inspection, material testing, and assessment of the P-T condition and load rating through finite element analysis.
