Abstract
In this review of Cara Furman's Teaching from an Ethical Center, Ashley Taylor discusses describes Furman's emphasis on cultivating teachers' ability to find not only what works or what can make for better teaching, but what can allow you to stay true to your moral self. Furman reframes the moral dimensions of teacher development in terms of knowing what to be and not simply knowing what to do.
