Abstract
Why doesn’t the flashing arrow work anymore? The green arrow doesn’t turn on, is there something wrong? These questions and more will be answered in a discussion about the operation, implementation, and education of flashing yellow arrows (FYAs) at signalized intersections. Case studies of specific intersections in Indiana will be used to show the crash history and risk analysis used to make decisions related to overall signal operation and driver safety.
