Abstract
During the morning commute, a semi-truck carrying a large piece of equipment on I-465 struck the Rockville Road overhead bridge, destroying four prestressed concrete I-beams and causing I-465 northbound and Rockville Road to be closed. Due to INDOT, GAI Consultants, and Rieth-Riley Construction working together to plan, design, and construct the required repairs, the bridge was put back in service within 4 months. Come hear about how innovative procurement, responsiveness, and excellent communication led to the project’s success.
