In 1996 Richard Blanton and Nicholas Rauh from Purdue University were awarded an NSF grant #9600617 for a two year archaeological survey in the Antioch region on the Turkish coast. This is award grew into the Rough Cilicia Archaeological Survey Project (RCASP), an international, multi-institutional, and interdisciplinary research project that spanned over a decade. The RCASP conducted a regional survey in the Alanya and Gazipaşa districts of the Antalya Province in Turkey between 1996-2011. The Project employed a multi-phased process of archaeological inspection including pedestrian survey of urban and rural terrain, architectural mapping of surviving features, ceramics collections, geological survey, deforestation research, and maritime survey.

The archive of the Rough Cilicia Survey Project consists of the RCSP Study Collection, the RCSP Context Pottery, and the RCSP Annual Field Reports.
