The Indianapolis Metropolitan Planning Organization (IMPO) is developing Central Indiana’s first ever regional Vulnerable Road User (VRU) Assessment. This presentation will present the scope, methodology, assessment results, and lessons learned from the process. We will focus on how the IMPO VRU Assessment differs from the region’s overall Safe Streets and Roads for All planning and the Statewide VRU Assessment INDOT completed in 2023, as well as why communities might want to consider conducting their own assessments.
