Abstract

While the design of urban streets is important to move traffic safely and efficiently, their impacts to our urban spaces is critical on how these roadways are designed. This presentation will discuss the planning and design of urban streets that improve quality of life and increase property values for all adjacent land uses by evaluating design features such as target speeds, lane widths, lateral clearances and introducing landscaping, green infrastructure and public art.
