Abstract
The final link in Plainfield’s Northwest Perimeter Parkway posed a challenge with poor soils. Designers faced a thick layer of organic material beneath an embankment road section and four-sided box culvert, introducing a risk of settlement under construction loads. This presentation will discuss the challenges and how the proposed solution exceeded expectations.
