Abstract
This session is an updated version of “Traffic Signal Advance Pre-emption Design within 200’ of Active Railroad Crossings,”—a 2012 Purdue Road School presentation. The issue of Traffic Signal Preemption has changed, positively and negatively, for INDOT and the railroads. A review of the updated traffic signal preemption material will benefit designers, operations staff, and local agencies.
