Abstract
A bridge replacement project on SR 337 over Lost River encountered karst features during foundation design, which ended up altering the preliminary span arrangement and overall bridge length. Through geophysical assessment, a large void was discovered under the bridge location, particularly the preliminary pier location. Construction updates, lessons learned, and perspectives on project challenges and solutions will be shared by a bridge designer and consultant project manager.
