Abstract
Many communities require traffic impact fees for new developments. Often these fees are calculated based entirely on general land use trip data derived from ITE’s Trip Generation Manual. Significant problems can arise when communities rely solely on ITE trip generation data to calculate impact fees. These problems stem from the misuse of data resulting in much higher impact fees. This presentation will provide real-world examples of these situations and how they were remedied.
