Abstract
The Kentucky Transportation Cabinet is replacing the existing US 68/KY 80 bridges across Kentucky Lake and Barkely near the New Madrid fault zone. Both bridges include 550 ft. main span basket handle arch structures. The Kentucky Lake cross is currently in construction and the Lake Barkely crossing is in final design. The total bridge lengths are 3,611 LF at Kentucky Lake and 3,805 LF at Lake Barkley. The new four lane crossings include a multi-use path.
