Domain wall resistance in narrow Co wires
Abstract
New results for the magnetoresistance of very narrow Co wires are presented. The resistance exhibits a complicated pattern of step-wise changes as the magnetization changes direction in response to a magnetic field. This behavior can be understood in terms of changes in the domain structure with field, combined with the anisotropic magnetoresistance. The results also suggest that the domain wall resistance is negative. (C) 2004 WILEY-VCH Verlag GmbH & Co. KGaA, Weinheim.
