Abstract
The Image Display and Manipulation System (IDAMS) is an interactive image analysis system consisting of a general purpose computer, a TV display and control console, and software. This paper describes the system features and capabilities. A scenario approach which simplifies the user interface is defined and is illustrated by an application of a scenario to multispectral classification. Included is a brief description of the Atmospheric and Oceanographic Information Processing System (AOIPS), a new interactive image analysis system currently being implemented at the Goddard Space Flight Center (GSFC).
