After-Action Reports for Traffic Incident Management (TIM)
This collection of over 250 reports was established as a repository for an after-action report jointly produced by Purdue University and the Indiana Department of Transportation. The after-action report provides a series of case studies that could be used to evaluate current TIM techniques and be incorporated into TIM training.
In addition to crash reports, connected vehicle data, agency traffic management cameras, emerging commercial dash cameras, news articles, media clips, social media postings and even public safety audio can provide a rich set of information for assembling an after-action report. The reference section identifies technical papers that describe methodologies for using these data sources to prepare after actions. The reports below are titled as "Event number – date – interstate route – county – short description" along with the links. Each entry provides a link to the PDF and link to a YouTube video of a PowerPoint that can be either played, with a 5 second step interval, or stepped through individually with the left and right arrow keys.
