Abstract

Even though the Greek and U.S. Higher education systems have similar missions, they differ in the areas of admissions, curriculum, and structure of student life. Specifically, in the area of admissions, the requirements for entrance to the university are different as well as the ability to select a major and the cost. In terms of the curriculum, there are significant differences in the number of credits required, attendance, and exam policies. Finally, student life is very different reflecting differences in policies among the different countries. Dr. Gkoupidenis offered insight into his personal experiences while attending university in Greece during a personal conversation after his Visiting Scholars Q&A session.
