Description

New library and publishing technological developments are discussed from the point of view of how they will affect a library searcher of the future. Any library can become the entry point to a world-wide network of libraries, making almost all the world's literature available to any searcher. This, in turn, imposes requirements for better means of control of a search and better terminals, as well as a change of focus on the part of the library. Libraries are seen as developing into communications centers whose primary mission is helping users solve search problems, rather than repositories of information packages.
