The role of DOBIS in achieving a high degree of efficiency to the workflow of the bibliocentre is examined in detail. The benefits, both to the network of users and the bibliocentre operation, resulting from DOBIS operating in-house, are highlighted. The versatility of DOBIS is demonstrated in a description of a unique application outside the scope of a library environment.
