Abstract

This paper documents a series of experimental impedance measurements made on underground residential distribution (URD) power components which included 15 KV class power cables, elbow connectors and a padmount transformer. The measurements were performed at high frequency, i.e. the MHz frequency region. The purpose was to study how the impedance of these devices behaves at high frequencies. Two port transmission parameters and network analysis were used to study the characteristics of these types of systems at these high frequencies.
