The syntheses of (1) certain aminosulfonic acids, (2) certain polymers, and (3) glycine

John William Schick, Purdue University

Abstract

The condensation of 1,6-hexanediamine and 2,2′ -dichloroethyl ether gave a product which may be drawn into fibers. The condensation of 1,6-hexanediamine and 1,4-dibromo-2-butene gave a product which may be pressed into a pliable disc. The condensation of 1,6-hexanediamine and chloroacetyl chloride gave a product which had the appearance and resiliency of sponge rubber. The condensation of silicon tetrachloride with 1,3-butanediamine, ethanolamine, and 3,6,9-triazaundecane-1,11-diamine gave a fiber-producing product, a resin, and a putty, respectively.
