Total syntheses of (+)-cephalostatin 7, (+)-cephalostatin 12, and (+)-ritterazine K
Abstract
Total Syntheses of (+)-Cephalostatin 7, (+)-Cephalostatin 12, and (+)-Ritterazine K are described herein. Four related projects are included in this thesis: (1) synthesis of a 17-deoxy, C-14,15-dihydro derivative 2.40 of Cephalostatin 12; (2) studies of spiroketal equilibration: implications for the synthesis of Cephalostatin 7; (3) synthesis of the South hexacyclic steroidal unit 3.31 of Cephalostatin 7 from aldehyde 3.6; and (4) completion of the syntheses of three target pyrazines (+)-Cephalostatin 7, (+)-Cephalostatin 12, and (+)-Ritterazine K from the North and South hexacyclic steroidal units.
