A computer-based management system for statistical models

N. Dan Worobetz, Purdue University

Abstract

This dissertation describes the architecture for a research prototype implementation of a model management system that performs statistical analysis on databases. The system allows for the use of several standard statistical procedures resulting in a decision support system that can be uniquely designed for individual needs. The architecture is based extensively on Structured Modeling (Geoffrion 1987). Statistical analysis is achieved through a menu-driven system in order to insure a user-friendly interface. In an effort to attain state of the art performance in the system being implemented, ORACLE$\sp{\rm TM}$ is used as the system controller. PC-SAS$\sp{\rm TM}$ is used as the primary solver.
