A THEORETICAL AND EMPIRICAL INVESTIGATION INTO CONDOMINIUM CONTRACTS
Abstract
This thesis investigates the emergence of behavioral restrictions in residential condominiums in the United States. Although the observed behavioral restrictions address a wide range of activities, this study focuses attention on the purpose behind using lease restrictions in residential condominiums. It is the conclusion of this study that lease restrictions are employed to reduce the cost to the condominium of enforcing property rights to the use and enjoyment of the individual condominium units as established in the house rules.
