LETICIA R GONZALES, Purdue University

Abstract

This investigation described the extent to which supervisors, principals, and guidance counselors agreed concerning the role and function of the elementary guidance counselors in the provinces of Negros Occidental and Negros Oriental, Philippines. The subjects used in this study included all district supervisors, all guidance counselors, and two principals in each district that employed a guidance counselor in these provinces during the 1977-1978 school year. In Negros Occidental, the number of usable responses received were 89 percent from principals, 85 percent each from supervisors and guidance counselors. Usable responses from Negros Oriental respondents were 71 percent from supervisors, 86 percent from principals, and 79 percent from guidance counselors.
