Search for the Standard Model Higgs boson in proton -antiproton collisions at a center-of-mass energy of 1.96 TeV
Abstract
We searched for the standard model Higgs boson in events with no identified leptons, large imbalance in transverse momentum and two jets where at least one of the jets contains a secondary vertex from the hadronization of b quarks. We used 1 fb-1 of pp collisions at [special characters omitted] = 1.96 TeV recorded by the CDF II experiment at the Tevatron. We found 16 (268) double (single) b tagged candidate events, where 14.8 ± 2.7 (251 ± 43) are expected from standard model processes, and placed 95% confidence level upper limits on the Higgs production cross section as a function of the Higgs mass.
