Second generation synthesis of cephalostatin 1 analogs
Abstract
The second generation syntheses of cephalostatin 1 analogs are described in this thesis. (1) A new oxidative tool for introduction of C23 (R)-OH is presented. (2) An efficient protocol for opening of spiroketals is depicted. (3) The facially selective [4+2] cycloaddition of singlet oxygen is described. (4) Designing a synthetic route is delineated using the newly developed methods. (5) Completion of the syntheses of South 7 and North 1 analogs are presented.
