Recovering image data from a GPU using a forensic sound method
Abstract
This paper investigates the possibility of using forensically sound methods to recover the image data from the NVIDIA Graphics Processing Unit. It begins the research by demonstrating an enhanced model for acquiring evidence of the image from the Graphics Processing Unit. This paper then illustrates two experiments to test the evidence's existence as well as the integrity and reliability. This paper then demonstrates a methodology to figure out the data structure of the evidence. Lastly, this paper concludes that the image data from the Graphics Processing Unit can be recovered in a forensically sound manner.
