Early adopters' perception of iPhone mobile commerce applications

Na-Ra Yun, Purdue University

Abstract

This research investigates early adopters' perceptions of mobile commerce applications. By using inductive thematic analysis and contextual inquiry, the study examined qualitative interview data from 10 participants to determine themes from early adopters' perception. The study uncovered major themes such as: perceived ease of use, perceived usefulness, trust, and social proof. Many insights can be uncovered by learning more about how early adopters shop, leading to comprehension of how mobile commerce should be developed, marketed and implemented. This research is not just about designing for early adopters but to potentially construct designs that attract broader range of people.
