Perceptions of parents related to Project Lead The Way

Gary Werner, Purdue University

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to better understand parents' perceptions of Project Lead The Way classes at McCutcheon High School. Parents that had a child that was enrolled in one of McCutcheon's Project Lead The Way classes were surveyed. The survey gathered responses ranging how much college credit Project Lead The Way classes earn to how beneficial Project Lead The classes were. Demographics, such as income and gender, were also collected. In addition to perceptions, the study also examined parents' understanding of Project Lead The Way classes. Furthermore, the study analyzed potential correlations between selected demographics and the parents' perceptions and knowledge. A Likert-Type scale was used to collect the data.
