Synthesis and biological evaluation of α-methylene-γ-butyrolactones
Abstract
Reported herein are the synthesis and biological evaluation of α-methylene-γ-butyrolactones. Using “allylboration” reaction α-methylene-γ-butyrolactones of various substitutions are prepared. Structure activity relationships of these lactones against various cancer cell lines are described. Synthesis of CF3-crotylborating agents and their reaction on aldehydes is also described. Also a one-pot asymmetric synthesis of tetrahydrofuran derivatives is described.
