Abstract
We analyze the effectiveness of protective measures in a differentiated products framework using highly disaggregated data. The extent of the data and level of disaggregation permits us to separate the aggregate effect of tariffs and non-tariff barriers (NTBs) into reduction, diversion and compression effects.
