The Purdue Conference on Active Nonproliferation (CAN) sought to present research, share best practices, recruit students to industry and government, and interact with others that are involved in “active nonproliferation”

On 22-23 March 2019, the Purdue INMM Chapter, in conjunction with the Central Region Chapter of the Institute of Nuclear Materials Management based out of Oak Ridge National Lab and Purdue's Center for Radiolocical and Nuclear Security (CRANS) hosted a Conference on Active Nonproliferation (CAN). Featuring Dr. Sara Kutchesfahani, author of Global Nuclear Order and a senior policy analyst at the Center for Arms Control and Nonproliferation, this conference served as an opportunity for members of academia, government, industry, and the military to exchange ideas and best practices on active efforts to fight nuclear terrorism and the destabilizing effects of nation states pursuing extra-treaty nuclear capabilities.
