The Stage Machine Design Competition provides students in entertainment technology and engineering an opportunity to explore the mechanical design process. Each year, undergraduate and graduate students from institutions across the United States form teams to design engineered solutions to unique stage effect challenges. Teams submit design proposals and demonstrate their prototype solutions on Purdue's campus for teams of judges working professionally in the industry.
