Abstract
Indianapolis DPW has started construction on major drainage improvements in one of its oldest neighborhoods, Fountain Square. This urban neighborhood has 150+ years of utilities, trolley tracks, and other nderground infrastructure hiding underneath the streets. Design of a large diameter storm sewer along Shelby Street required a robust utility coordination effort to minimize risk and delays. This session will explore the benefits of utility coordination efforts under the alternative delivery method that DPW used to procure construction.
