Abstract
Accurate road curve, grade, and width measurements are critical for improving safety along transportation networks. Often transportation agencies lack the data necessary to address safety concerns, budget for maintenance, or accelerate advancements like autonomous vehicles. This presentation examines case studies that demonstrate how aerial lidar can be used to obtain the measurements needed to support safety initiatives and develop efficient road maintenance strategies.
