Abstract
Keeping the variety of wheels a-turnin' . . . and a-turnin’ safely in Angola, Indiana, was key when designing the streetscape improvements to Maumee Street, a federal truck route running through the heart of the downtown district. Today, safety challenges have been addressed, and pedestrians stroll along the ADA-compliant sidewalks (originally designed more than a century ago to accommodate the loading and unloading of horse-drawn buggies) adjacent to vehicular traffic that includes a large volume of semi-trucks. Join us for a discussion.
