Abstract
Compaction grouting was developed many years ago as a means of densifying soft and weak soils under existing structures as well as re-leveling the structure itself once settlement has occurred. The technique can treat not only the symptom of the problem (settlement) but the cause (the underlying soft soil), thereby extending the life of the structure. The technique and associated installation procedures will be discussed, and applications for roadway rehabilitation will be summarized.
