Abstract

English Translation:

In 2012, Sara Fijo spoke by Skype with Patricia Hart about her beginnings in film sound with Monty Python in London, her apprenticeship ith Antonio Bloch, and her experiences with direct sound. She tells of working early on with director Álvaro Saenz de Heredia, who didn’t want a woman working in sound “because she’ll fall off her high heels,” and about the difference between Spanish and English actors in terms of effective use of the voice. She comments on the advantage of being a woman when an actress is filming an intimate scene, and about her attempt to be an “angel” on a film shoot, “separate, quiet, and seeing everything; it’s a beautiful way to be on a set.” Finally, she speaks of her experiences as a producer.
