Abstract
A number of up-to-date numerical classification techniques are described. These include the orthogonal and oblique factor analysis methods, and the unweighed pair-group cluster analysis procedure. The techniques are applied to morphometric data from 159 small drainage basins from two geographical regions. Transformation techniques to achieve the normal distribution with respect to symmetry are applied.
