Abstract
The increasing sophistication of deepfake technology poses significant challenges to cybersecurity, particularly in the realm of information dissemination. While deepfakes have historically been associated with social media and video platforms, their potential impact extends to traditional news outlets, such as newspapers. This brief survey paper explores the presence of deepfake flavors in newspaper articles and the potential cybersecurity implications they introduce. It also provides strategies for detection, mitigation, and protection, focusing on maintaining the integrity of media content and protecting against emerging cybersecurity threats.
