Animals in Silent Movies

Kara Krewer, Purdue University

Abstract

This collection aims to examine the writer's fascinations—rural life, the function of memory, animals, anxiety, film, the humor in darkness, and the darkness in humor—and listen closely to the chatter that happens in and between the poems. Relying largely on the drama of plain speech and everyday image, these poems want to decode the static of daily life and transform it into something worth hearing on the radio.^
