Description

Computers are very good at interpreting the literal meaning of words, but they traditionally haven’t been as good at picking up on nuance and understanding when a word is used sarcastically or insincerely. This talk will discuss how machine learning techniques can be combined with social relationship and behavioral models to better understand intent of the speaker, and, as a result, the political slant of the social media post or news article.
