Abstract
We publish the talk that Chiara Lubich gave in 2001 at the inauguration of the Istituto Superiore di Cultura, the historical forerunner of the Sophia University Institute. She recalls her mystical experience of 1949 and illustrates how this experience inspires a new vision of university studies for the renewal of culture in the spirit of unity.
