Abstract
The construction industry is a significant contributor to environmental degradation, economic inefficiency, and social inequities. In response, the adoption of Circular Economy (CE) practices has emerged as a vital strategy to mitigate these challenges by promoting sustainable resource use, waste reduction, and value creation across the project lifecycle. This study aims to evaluate the role of government support in influencing Triple Bottom Line (TBL) outcomes, economic, environmental, and social, within the construction industry. Using a quantitative approach, a survey was administered to collect responses from industry stakeholders, including contractors, architects, and project managers. The collected data were analysed using Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modelling (PLS-SEM), which is a robust statistical technique suitable for exploring complex relationships among variables. The study's findings reveal significant correlations between the implementation of CE practices and positive TBL outcomes. Specifically, enhanced resource efficiency and waste management strategies were linked to improved economic performance and reduced environmental impact. Additionally, the social dimension was positively influenced by CE practices that foster community engagement and workforce development. These results underscore the importance of integrating CE principles into construction practices to achieve sustainability goals. This research contributes to the literature by providing empirical evidence of the benefits of CE in construction and by offering practical insights for industry stakeholders seeking to enhance their sustainability initiatives. It advocates for a paradigm shift towards a circular construction model that prioritises TBL outcomes, thereby supporting the global sustainability agenda.
