The American Society for Engineering Education (ASEE) began in 1893 as the Society for the Promotion of Engineering Education (SPEE) and was incorporated in the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania on January 29, 1943. The name changed occurred in June 1946 at the Annual Conference hosted by Washington University in St. Louis.

The Illinois-Indiana Section of the American Society for Engineering Education is one of 12 geographical sections. Hosted by various campuses in the Section, every spring there is an annual conference at which awards are given for the Outstanding Campus Representative, Outstanding Teaching, Outstanding Service, and Best Paper.

The 2018 Illinois-Indiana Section Conference Proceedings are the first to be available on this website. Earlier conference proceedings (going back to 2003) can be found at http://ilin.asee.org/ until they are moved here. If you are the author of a paper presented at an earlier Illinois-Indiana Section Conference and would like your paper moved, please download and complete a publication agreement form https://docs.lib.purdue.edu/aseeil-insectionconference/aseeilin-pub-agreement.pdf and send it to Joanne Lax (jlax@purdue.edu).
