This event is a consecutive International Conference on Durability of Concrete Structure (ICDCS) , initialized in Zhejiang University in 2008 and was successfully organized by Hokkaido University (2010), Queen’s University Belfast (2012) and Purdue University (2014). The Shenzhen University (SZU) organized the 5th meeting in Jun 30, 2016. It focused on bringing together international experts on the durability of concrete structures to share their experiences and achievements, meanwhile, discuss the problems, so the future challenges on the issues of concrete durability could be properly addressed.

Shenzhen University (SZU) was founded as a public university on May 10, 1983 with the accreditation of the State Council of the People's Republic of China, and has undergone rapid growth and expansion in the past three decades. SZU offers multi-level degrees with its 25 colleges, providing 80 undergraduate programs, over 100 master programs, and 9 doctoral programs. The studying major at SZU ranges from philosophy, literature, economics, management, law, education, sciences, medicine, engineering, arts, and history.
