Usability evaluation of a virtual collaborative network system
Abstract
This research study aims to evaluate the usability of a virtual collaborative network system, the Indiana Clinical and Translational Sciences Institute (Indiana CTSI). The Indiana CTSI is a virtual collaborative community working towards transforming the participating institutions to create an environment that facilitates the conduct of clinical translational science research. The methods used for the usability evaluation include usability testing, think aloud method, questionnaires, and individual interviews. Three metrics (Task Success, Time-on-task, and Errors) for the system are presented based on five tasks performed by the participants. A total of thirteen usability issues along with severity ratings have been identified and are presented along with recommendations to overcome the issues.
