Abstract

This research examined various factors that impact the effectiveness of virtual teams. The research questions examined in the thesis were; “What are some of the factors that differentiate high performing virtual teams from less effective virtual teams? “What factors of team demographics impact the virtual team effectiveness?”, “Does rotation of team leadership or lack of it affect the virtual team’s effectiveness?”, and “How much team building/team skill development is needed to make virtual teams effective in their effectiveness?” The respondents of the study included participants belonging to virtual teams from 16 organizations. The data analysis used for this specific study was descriptive statistics including factor reduction and regression analysis. The study includes the results from the analysis, its implications and recommendations.
